Beauty Tip for Oily Skin!

If you have oily skin, instead of buying oil blotter papers which can be pretty expensive, buy a box of perm papers, they are just as good for blotting oily skin, without breaking the bank!

There is a total of 33 shades that are warm, cool, and neutral shades, so there is literally a shade for everyone!  I was a bit unsure as to what to get since it's Winter and my skin isn't at it's best, so I chose to go for N4 in Buff Biege, I did a little swatch on my wrist just to make sure & it matched.  The true test would be the next day when I went to go about my makeup routine, and let me tell you this foundation did not disappoint!  I used the Real Techniques Stippling Brush and first stippled it on my face, then afterwards I buffed it into my skin.  I did use the L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base before applying my foundation, and this combo really did the trick.  A little concealer over any trouble spots & under my eyes, set it with some loose powder and my face was flawless!

Unfortunately I didn't take any up close pics of me (I don't know why) but I do have a picture of me wearing this foundation and how it looked almost 7 hours later (I was at a babyshower) and let me tell you I had to do zero touchups, it still looked pretty flawless.

So ladies, if you haven't given this foundation a try (I admit I was hesitant too) you really should.  Let me know what you think!

Ulta Haul!

So I decided to do a little retail therapy last night, and the only place I wanted to go to was Ulta, it's like a Toys R Us for makeup junkies like myself LOL.  Check out what I purchased!

So many goodies!  I finally bit the bullet and purchased the original Urban Decay Naked Palette.  I struggled for a while wondering if I should get it since I already own so many neutral palettes, but I can't stop hearing so many great things about this that I had to pick it up.

I know everyone has seen pics of the palette, and swatches but I felt like I just had to :o)

I also purchased the Real Techniques brushes, the Flawless Core Collection for the face, and also the Stippling Brush.  I haven't used the core collection yet, but I did use the stippling brush this morning & OMG I just loved the way this brush felt against my face, and the way it applied my foundation.  It's a definite must have brush in my book!

I also managed to pick up 6 out of the 10 Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow.  I haven't used them yet but I did some swatches & the pigments are pretty incredible.  Here are the colors that I purchased.

(Left to Right: Tough as Taupe, Fierce & Tangy, and Edgy Emerald)

(Left to Right: Pomegrante Punk, Bold Gold, and Audacious Asphalt)

These babies are being compared to the MAC Paint Pots, which I love, so I'm dying to test these babies out to see how long they last & just how much they help make the eyeshadows pop!

Next up I picked up to NYX Glitters, that I just wanted to add to my makeup collection.

(Left: Disco Queen, Right: Gold)

Another purchase I made was from Japonesque, their Precision Eyelash Curler since it's smaller in size it can curl your lashes accurately!

And for my final purchase, I got the SmashBox Try It Kit.  I've never used SmashBox products before, so for $19 I figured I'd give it a try, these are some of their best products in trial size that I'm sure I won't regret.

This kit includes the Photo Finish Foundation Primer, Photo Finish Lid Primer, Limitless Eye Liner in Onyx, Hyperlash Mascara in Blackout, and Lip Enhancing Gloss in Illume.

All in all I'm super happy with my purchase, and I can't wait to go back again!  If you have any of these products let me know what you think!  Later beauties!

New Year's Look Blue & Silver Glitter!

Here is another New Year's look I created that was sparkly & blue!  Products used was the Wet n Wild Blue Had Me At Hello Palette, using both blue colors on the lid, and the sparkly white as a brow bone highlight.  For the blue glitter I used the NYX Gel Glitter Palette, I think it was called the Ocean Palette but don't quote me on that.  I used that from the middle to the outter corner of her eye, and on the inner part of the eye I used the LASplash Crystalized Glitter in Trance to give it a pop of silver.  Finished it off with some gel eyeliner & mascara!

    My New Years Look!

Here's my New Years look that I did.  I wanted glitter but I didn't want to O.D. in it because as beautiful as glitter is, let's be honest it's a pain to work with.  As a base I used MAC Painterly Paint Pot, and on my lid I used the ELF Cream Liner in GunMetal.  Over top of that I used the Silver color in the Wet n Wild Blue Had Me At Hello Palette.  For the outter corner of the eye, I used the Grey color in the Sonia Kashuk Eye On Neutral Palette, mixed with a little black just to smoke out the outter eye area.  On the crease to blend in the brow bone highlight to the rest of the eye I used a neutral brown color.  Bottom eyeliner is the GunMetal again, set in with the Silver Shadow from the Wet n Wild Palette.  Finally for the glitter I used LASplash Crystallized Glitter in "Trance" very pretty silver with the LASplash Sealer first to hold the glitter in place, and a little liner on the waterline and BAM, there you have my New Year's look!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2012!!!

I know I'm so late, but being a full time Accountant, and a full time Mommy, and doing the MUA thing on the side, doesn't give me much time to be on the internet, but I just wanted to take the time out to wish you guys the best for 2012, much happiness & success, great health, and just know that whatever you put your mind to, you can totally do it.  I hope you guys had a beautiful Christmas as well.  My boys had the best Christmas thus far, I'm happy I was able to get everything on their lists.  I also got a very special gift the iPad 2 from my hubby, I guess I was a good girl this year LOL.  Stay beautiful!!! xoxo

Revlon Photo Ready Air Brush Mousse Makeup!

So while doing my little last minute gift shopping I ran across this item & I couldn't resist, I had to pick this up because it just had me intruiged.  Revlon Photo Ready Air Brush Mousse Makeup,  New air-infused mousse creates a flawless, poreless finish!

It comes in a spray can with kind of a tilted nozzle, you have to make sure you shake first before getting any product out.  Also I didn't see directions but if you peel the corner label it opens up to reveal the directions.  The cool thing about this product is you spray it (I spray on the top of my hand) and it comes out like a foamy mousse very lightweight, and the moment you dip your brush in, it deflates into a creamy foundation.  It provides med/full coverage, it's buidable, so start off with a little, and trust me a little goes a long way.  I purchased the shade "Medium Biege" and it worked for me.  But be advised, there is a bit of sparkle in this product, I didn't notice it so much on my face, but on my hand I did after I had used all the product.

Overall, I'd say Revlon did a pretty good job with this formula, it definitely provides a flawless finish.  Definitely give this one a try, you won't be disappointed!
