What Does Your Lipstick Color Say About You???

Ever wonder what men think about our choice in lipstick color, well here's the scoop!

#1.) Classic Red- It means you want attention and you’re trying to stand out from the crowd. In general, guys like it, and it looks kinda classy. The one downside is, it’s not a great color for kissing. A safer bet is a normal, toned-down red.

#2.) Hot Pink- To guys, it means you're adventurous and not afraid to go wild. But it can seem out of place if you’re wearing something more formal.

#3.) Dark Purple- On the right woman, dark lipstick can definitely get a guy’s attention. It means you’re edgy and not afraid to take risks. And you’re different, but only because you choose to be different.

#4.) A Neutral Color- Guys don’t tend to like lipstick when it’s the same color as your skin. It works on some women, but supposedly it makes most women look cold.

#5.) Bright Orange- Bright colors are more popular with younger women, because you come across as wild, confident, and probably a lot of fun. But if you’re not young enough to pull it off, they just make you look like a clown.

#6.) Metallic- Unless it’s part of a Halloween costume or you’re Lady Gaga, metallic lipstick makes you look weird and trashy. On the other hand, plenty of guys like weird and trashy.

Milk of Magnesia for Oily Skin????

I know, I know, I'm late with this lol.  While searching through YouTube & various other sites for something to control the oil on your face, I stumbled upon this product, Milk of Magnesia (M.o.M), so curiousity took control & I went out & purchased a bottle to see if it truly lives up to the hype, & let me tell you it does not dissappoint!!!

I have very oily skin especially around my T-Zone, the majority around my eyebrows, & I tend to look like a shiny disco ball by the end of the day if I don't use anything to control the oil, & this has been such a savior.

I go through my normal skin routine, cleanser, toner, & moisturizer, I then follow it up with a thin layer of M.o.M, try not to pile it on because it will leave you with white residue on your face.  I apply it with a cosmetic sponge, be sure to shake the bottle first before applying.  Once I let it dry, I sometimes (not all the time because it does a pretty good job on it's own) I follow it up with the Monistat Chaffing Gel on my T-Zone only, then I proceed with my foundation & the rest of my face routine.

Let me tell you my face goes on for hours without being oily, since I only put on a thin layer, naturally after about 6 hours or so a little oil seeps through but nothing in comparison to how oily my face use to get before using this.

You can also use M.o.M as a overnight face mask, & as a deodarant, I'm sure there is more, just keep experimenting with it.  Enjoy beauties!!!

What Are The Benefits Of Using Witch Hazel???

Witch Hazel is an extract from the leaves & bark of the North American shrub Hamamelis Virginiana.  There are more than 30 traditional uses for witch hazel.  It's primary use through the years has been for the treatment of skin conditions.

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY:
Can be used to treat conditions such as, diaper rash, razor burn, and bug bites.

ANTIMICROBIAL:
Another use is to soothe poison ivy, treat chicken pox, and heal bruises & cuts, all caused or irrated by viruses & bacteria.

ASTRINGENT:
Witch hazel is considered to be a potent astringent due to the high level of tannins in the leaves, tannins help to tighten skin proteins which then form a protecting covering to help promote skin healing.

MOISTURIZER:
You can use witch hazel to lock in moisture onto your skin.

MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS:
Witch hazel is safe & effective to use daily, if needed, on your skin.  I do & I swear by this stuff.  After I wash my face, I use a cotton pad and use this right after.  It removes what my wash left behind.  It nourishes my skin, minimizes my pores, controls the oil on my face, and leaves it nice & smooth.  I have combination skin, and I tend to get flaky on my forehead & since using this there is no more flakiness.  I totally see the difference is my skin and I highly recommend this product to everyone!  You can find this at your local drug store, I purchased mine from Walmart.  Dickinson's carries a whole line of witch hazel products so check them out!

The Balm Skin Care Review!

What can I say about The Balm, it's truly The Bomb lol.  On one of my TJ Maxx adventures I came across this set & I picked it up immediately, it was a set that included the Vanilla Oil-Absorbing Face Moisturizer & the Spearamint Aloe Face Mask.

This set was for combination skin, and I only paid $9.99 for this set, the Vanilla Oil-Absorbing Moisturizer alone retails at $20, and the Spearmint Face Mask retails at $20.00, so $10 for this set was a steal!  I've been using these products for a little over a month now, and I'm in love!  The moisturizer is perfect for those who have oily skin, it leaves me matte all day.

On my next TJ Maxx adventure I stumbled upon another set from The Balm for combination skin, which I got for $12.99, this set included Rose Facial Cleanser, Apple AHA Daily Face Moisturizer, and Brazil Nut Eye Perfection Gel.

This set I've only been using for about 2 weeks now, and I have to say it hasn't disappointed me in one bit.  the Brazil Nut Eye Perfection Gel retails for $32, the Rose Face Cleanser retails for $24.50, and the Apple AHA Daily Moisturizer retails for $32, these products are well worth the price, but if you have a TJ Maxx by you, I would run out to see if they have any available, they are hard to find, so if you spot them, definitely pick these up!

Nicki Minaj Viva Glam Inspired Look!

I know, I know, everyone has pics of their interpretation of the Nicki Minaj Viva Glam Ad Inspired look, so naturally I had to create my own :o)

I used the ELF eye palette to create this look, and the Teal Maybelline Color Tattoo for that extra pop of color under the eye.

Of course I didn't have the actual lipstick on hand, but I finally did pick it up, and I have to say I love this color!  It's definitely a great color for Spring/Summer!

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color!

So I decided to pick up two (out of the 6 new colors that came out) of the Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color, and the only colors I found were "Don't Blink Pink", and "Purty Persimmon", the rest were sold out at my local drug store.  These colors are GORGEOUS!  They are long lasting, non-drying lip color, and the names are just as crazy as the colors, and did I mention how inexpensive they are, what more could you expect from Wet n Wild!

Renpure Organics Argan Oil Treatment!

Oh my you guys, where do I begin!  I've heard so many things about Argan Oil that I decided to give it a try and see what all the hype is about.  Let me tell you guys, I can honestly say I LOVE THIS!  My hair hasn't looked or felt this great in YEARS!

Argan Oil Deep Penetrating Oil Treatment - 3.75 fl oz
Argan oil has a very small molecular structure that easily penetrates & smooths the hair cuticle layer as it repairs damage in the deepest areas while restoring strength. Argan oil provides a natural micro-barrier that protects from styling heat & UV rays. The result is brilliant shine with a silky-soft feel for healthy, beautiful hair.
  • Color Safe Formula
  • Free From Harmful Chemicals
  • Not tested on animals
  • Made in the USA
I've been using this product for a little over a week now and you guys I can't put into words how I love my hair.  It no longer looks frizzy from all the abuse I've put my hair through.  I have long hair and by mid-day the underneath of my hair would be in one big knot, since using this not anymore.  My hair looks so shiny & healthy, I barely notice my split ends, and it feels great, I can run my fingers through my hair and not get my fingers caught up in knots.  I'm one who likes to wash my hair every other day, so every other day once I get out the shower I apply this to my damp hair (about the size of a quarter), and let my hair air dry, the next morning it's as if I didn't even sleep on it, my curls are still boucny, and just amazing!  I haven't tried the shampoo & conditioner yet, but that is on my list to purchase, because if the oil treatment is this amazing, I can only imagine the other products available.  Check out the link below!

NY Giants Inspired Look!

In honor of my #2 Football Team and the Super Bowl Champions, the NY Giants, here is a look I created using Inglot, and Milani, enjoy!

My Beauty Addiction Lipstick Review!

Hi beauties, I'm back with another review for My Beauty Addiction (I really am addicted) but this time I purchased lip products.  I placed my order on Friday, and I received it on Monday super fast shipping which is really impressive!  Here is how the items came packaged.

Everything was wrapped in bubble wrap extremely secure, they truly make sure nothing gets damaged during shipping.  So I ordered the following items, 4 lipsticks, and a exfoliating lip scrub, and received a free sample of their African Black Soap.

I was so excited to receive this package, especially because I have been on such a Purple Lipstick kick that I can't help but want to purchase every purple lipstick I come across.  So I purchased the following colors:

I ordered the Color Rich Lipstick Trio which include Paranormal, Stargazer, and Heliotrope (different shades of purple) and of course I had to get the Color Rich Lipstick in Sapphire, I just couldn't pass it up.

The packaging is so cute on these lipsticks, they are in a black tube w/ rhinestones going around the middle portion of the tube, not to mention they have a very creamy feel to them, they are loaded with Vitamin E and Shea Butter & the color payoff is pretty amazing. See swatches below:

Now the item I truly wanted was the Sweet Kisses Exfoliating Lip Scrub in Frosty Mint, ugh I can't stress enough how badly my lips needed this.  Exfoliating your lips helps to improve the appearance of your lips and also helps the skin hold more moisture and prevents chapping. Your lips will be silky smoooth and will increase the staying power of lipstick & lip products by having a smooth surface to adhere to.  Made with Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Cane Sugar, Jojoba Beads, & Flavor Oil give this a try beauties I loved it! I already feel the difference on my lips.

My final thoughts: If you guys have never tried their products, I would defintely give these a try, they offer great products and are so inexpensive, and the pigments are insane, check them out for yourself, click the link below!

Beauty Tip for Oily Skin!

If you have oily skin, instead of buying oil blotter papers which can be pretty expensive, buy a box of perm papers, they are just as good for blotting oily skin, without breaking the bank!

There is a total of 33 shades that are warm, cool, and neutral shades, so there is literally a shade for everyone!  I was a bit unsure as to what to get since it's Winter and my skin isn't at it's best, so I chose to go for N4 in Buff Biege, I did a little swatch on my wrist just to make sure & it matched.  The true test would be the next day when I went to go about my makeup routine, and let me tell you this foundation did not disappoint!  I used the Real Techniques Stippling Brush and first stippled it on my face, then afterwards I buffed it into my skin.  I did use the L'Oreal Magic Perfecting Base before applying my foundation, and this combo really did the trick.  A little concealer over any trouble spots & under my eyes, set it with some loose powder and my face was flawless!

Unfortunately I didn't take any up close pics of me (I don't know why) but I do have a picture of me wearing this foundation and how it looked almost 7 hours later (I was at a babyshower) and let me tell you I had to do zero touchups, it still looked pretty flawless.

So ladies, if you haven't given this foundation a try (I admit I was hesitant too) you really should.  Let me know what you think!

Ulta Haul!

So I decided to do a little retail therapy last night, and the only place I wanted to go to was Ulta, it's like a Toys R Us for makeup junkies like myself LOL.  Check out what I purchased!

So many goodies!  I finally bit the bullet and purchased the original Urban Decay Naked Palette.  I struggled for a while wondering if I should get it since I already own so many neutral palettes, but I can't stop hearing so many great things about this that I had to pick it up.

I know everyone has seen pics of the palette, and swatches but I felt like I just had to :o)

I also purchased the Real Techniques brushes, the Flawless Core Collection for the face, and also the Stippling Brush.  I haven't used the core collection yet, but I did use the stippling brush this morning & OMG I just loved the way this brush felt against my face, and the way it applied my foundation.  It's a definite must have brush in my book!

I also managed to pick up 6 out of the 10 Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow.  I haven't used them yet but I did some swatches & the pigments are pretty incredible.  Here are the colors that I purchased.

(Left to Right: Tough as Taupe, Fierce & Tangy, and Edgy Emerald)

(Left to Right: Pomegrante Punk, Bold Gold, and Audacious Asphalt)

These babies are being compared to the MAC Paint Pots, which I love, so I'm dying to test these babies out to see how long they last & just how much they help make the eyeshadows pop!

Next up I picked up to NYX Glitters, that I just wanted to add to my makeup collection.

(Left: Disco Queen, Right: Gold)

Another purchase I made was from Japonesque, their Precision Eyelash Curler since it's smaller in size it can curl your lashes accurately!

And for my final purchase, I got the SmashBox Try It Kit.  I've never used SmashBox products before, so for $19 I figured I'd give it a try, these are some of their best products in trial size that I'm sure I won't regret.

This kit includes the Photo Finish Foundation Primer, Photo Finish Lid Primer, Limitless Eye Liner in Onyx, Hyperlash Mascara in Blackout, and Lip Enhancing Gloss in Illume.

All in all I'm super happy with my purchase, and I can't wait to go back again!  If you have any of these products let me know what you think!  Later beauties!

New Year's Look Blue & Silver Glitter!

Here is another New Year's look I created that was sparkly & blue!  Products used was the Wet n Wild Blue Had Me At Hello Palette, using both blue colors on the lid, and the sparkly white as a brow bone highlight.  For the blue glitter I used the NYX Gel Glitter Palette, I think it was called the Ocean Palette but don't quote me on that.  I used that from the middle to the outter corner of her eye, and on the inner part of the eye I used the LASplash Crystalized Glitter in Trance to give it a pop of silver.  Finished it off with some gel eyeliner & mascara!

    My New Years Look!

Here's my New Years look that I did.  I wanted glitter but I didn't want to O.D. in it because as beautiful as glitter is, let's be honest it's a pain to work with.  As a base I used MAC Painterly Paint Pot, and on my lid I used the ELF Cream Liner in GunMetal.  Over top of that I used the Silver color in the Wet n Wild Blue Had Me At Hello Palette.  For the outter corner of the eye, I used the Grey color in the Sonia Kashuk Eye On Neutral Palette, mixed with a little black just to smoke out the outter eye area.  On the crease to blend in the brow bone highlight to the rest of the eye I used a neutral brown color.  Bottom eyeliner is the GunMetal again, set in with the Silver Shadow from the Wet n Wild Palette.  Finally for the glitter I used LASplash Crystallized Glitter in "Trance" very pretty silver with the LASplash Sealer first to hold the glitter in place, and a little liner on the waterline and BAM, there you have my New Year's look!
